With the royal wedding only a few days away, I thought it would be fun to put together a quick mini shoot with some inspiration for your royal wedding viewing party. I will admit that I dragged myself out of bed at 4am to watch William and Kate tie the knot back in 2011 but not this time! Why not just set the PVR, wake up at a decent hour, and then have some friends over for brunch instead? Here are some easy ideas on how you can put together a fun royal wedding viewing party as you watch Harry and Meghan tie the knot!
First send your guests the cutest little invite, like this one designed by Decaffeinated Design.
Keep the decor simple and elegant by including beautiful teapot and teacup flower arrangements. Gather some vintage plates and tiered stands to display your refreshments. You can either make your own fingers sandwiches and scones or do what we did and pick up goodies from your local bakery. Cakes n Sweets serves high tea in their adorable shop but with some advance notice, they will pack up your goodies so you can take them to go! Included on their high tea menu are mini sandwiches, buttermilk scones, and an array of delicious desserts.
We included a few Union Jack cookies to serve alongside our Royal Wedding Tea. We also made sure to have fresh fruit, orange juice, and wine available for our guests.
We showcased these custom made toppers on simple store bought cupcakes.
And a hand lettered sign doubled as decor and a photo prop!
A banner will provide your guests with a fun photo backdrop.
Finally, tell your guests to dress up in their Sunday best and have a few fascinators on hand to feel extra fancy. This fascinator was provided by a local tea and gift shop and isn’t it posh?
Are you planning to watch the royal wedding this weekend? I’d love to hear what you think of the big day!
